2nd edition of the DiafrikInvest Business Forum

The Confédération des Entreprises Citoyennes de Tunisie (CONECT) organized, on March 10, 2020 in Tunis, the 2nd edition of the DIAFRIKINVEST Business Forum, in partnership with ANIMA Investment Network. This event aims to connect local entrepreneurs and the Tunisian diaspora.
 
The DiafrikInvest project aims to accelerate and support the mobilization of high talent, entrepreneurs and investors from the diaspora to boost business relationships between Europe, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia, and thus contribute to economic development.
 
 

Present in this 2nd edition, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC) was represented at the official opening by its Managing Director Dr Boutheina BEN YAGHLANE.
 
Dr Ben Yaghlane highlighted the role of the CDC in financing sustainable development, and said that “The fund is doing everything to make the Fund of Funds operational in 2020. The CDC is also working to diversify modes of financing for the benefit of companies by promoting innovative solutions that respect the environment, in particular through the forthcoming issuance of the first Green Bonds in Tunisia during 2020 “.
 
The event continued with the first panel entitled: "Financing of innovation & Innovative Financing Mechanisms" with the participation of Ms. Nejia Gharbi, DGA of CDC. During her speech, she said: "There are two types of financing: Financing for Startups (Fund of Funds dedicated for Startups), and the other for innovative SMEs (Fund dedicated to innovative SMEs). Fund of funds, the CDC will pilot all the 'support to the ecosystem' which will be further developed with the possibility of the presence of an incubator for the management companies who will manage these funds'.
